WHAT BAYERN STAR THIAGO TO PHILLIP COUTINHO ABOUT CHELSEA MOVE

Barcelona are still looking to sell playmaker Philippe Coutinho this summer as they look to raise funds in a bid to land Lautaro Martinez and Neymar. Coutinho, 27, spent the season on loan at Bayern Munich having struggled at the Nou Camp since his £145million arrival form Liverpool in January 2018.

The Brazilian star has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent week after reports claimed German giants are unlikely to trigger an optional clause to permanently sign the playmaker for £70million. But former Barcelona midfielder Thiago, who played alongside the 27-year-old at Allianz Arena urged him to make his current loan deal permanent. ‘I know him well. He’s very good,’ Thiago said. ‘I’ve seen him play since he was 12 years old.
‘I played futsal against hi m in Brazil and he loved it. He doesn’t think he lacks anything. ‘I love playing with high-level footballers and he is a phenomenon. He is a spectacular guy, super hard-working, with an unbeatable technique and incredible definition. ‘Players go through good and not so good moments and he is giving us a lot. We hope to have him next year too.’ Coutinho, who shipped out on loan to Bayern Munich where he had an impressive start, racking up eight goals and six assists, view as the calibre of player that will take the Blues to the next level and challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title next season. ***prbxselfnetwork***
