The Ministry of Power has announced to Nigerians that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) transmitted 5,222 megawatts to the national grid. According to the information, this is the highest transmission ever in the history of Nigeria. The ministry in a tweet on Tuesday, December 26 wrote: “The Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN) recorded a new national peak with the transmission of 5,222.3 mega watts (MW) of electricity into the national grid. Akiolu gave the advice on Thursday, December 21, at an appreciation party and book presentation held in honour of Oladele Amoda, the managing director, Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), on his retirement from service. According to Oba of Lagos, the DISCOs should be allowed to charge what is good for them. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Amoda will retire as the EKEDC chief executive on Dec.29.
