Three unemployed men were on Friday arraigned in an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly breaking into a company premises and stealing some items worth N2.2 million. The men are Benjamin Anthony, 28, Stephen Azeez, 28, and Dotun Adetoun, 42. They reside at a slum area of Victoria Island. They are standing trial on charges of conspiracy and stealing. The Prosecutor, Sgt. Cyriacus Osuji, told court that the three men committed the offences on May 16 at Lekki Phase 1 on the Lekki-Epe Expressway. He said that they conspired and stole tarpaulin, valued at N1.4 million and lights, valued at N800, 000, belonging to an advertising company, e-Motion Advertising Nigeria Ltd. Osuji said the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The three men, however, denied the charges. The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Komolafe, granted them bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum. She said that the sureties must be gainfully employed, resident in Lagos State and must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government. Komolafe adjourned the case until June 29 for mention. ***prbxselfnetwork***
