The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is to investigate how the office of the National Security Adviser utilise the multi-billion naira it collected from some ministries, departments and agencies for military operations between 2007 and 2015. The EFCC will probe 56 individuals and organisations, including two former army chiefs Lt-Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika and Lt.Gen Kenneth Minimah, also included is former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki, over N405 billion defence contracts scam. The sum of $2.1 billion meant to procure arms to fight Boko Haram was alleged to have been diverted by Dasuki for electioneering campaign in the 2015 presidential election. The anti graft agent had since made scores of arrest of public office holder during the past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.
