The Speaker Edo State House of Assembly Mrs. Elizabeth Ativie few minutes ago resigned, giving way for the Deputy Speaker Dr. Justin Okonobo to become the new speaker. Dr Okonobo represents Igueben constituency. The motion for the resignation of the speaker was moved by the Majority Leader of the house, Mr. Folly Ogedegbe and supported by the Chairman House Committee on Information Mr. Chris Okaeben. The new arrangement at the Anthony Enahorro Assembly Complex is largely viewed by many as a design to balance the equation in Edo politics which has been lopsided since the former speaker Mr. Victor Edoror representing Esan Central Constituency was toppled.
