For malians in mauritanian desert, going home is a mirage

It is hardly the most inviting place to call home -- a sprawling tent city in a sea of reddish sand in southeastern Mauritania. It is hardly the most inviting place to call home -- a sprawling tent city in a sea of reddish sand in southeastern Mauritania. But for the Malians who eke out a life here, the harsh Saharan desert is a haven compared to the violence and chaos back home. Tens of thousands have fled towns and villages in northern Mali to the safety of Mbera camp, 50 kilometres (30 miles) from the border. And for many of them, the craving to go back is offset by the wretched fate of those who have done so. Mohamed Ousmane Ag al-Khalifa arrived in the camp in 2012, fleeing Al-Qaeda-linked jihadist groups that seized key towns in northern Mali, exploiting an uprising by ethnic Tuareg-led rebels. In June 2015, the government and rebels signed a peace accord. Rocket attacks But -- as the shepherd and his family were to discover when they ventured back to the Timbuktu region six months later -- a deal on paper failed to end violence on the ground. "They had told us the peace agreement had been signed at the highest level," said Khalifa, a man in his fifties from the Tuareg tribe of Kel Tagamart, dressed in a black turban and pale green robes. "The week after we arrived back, the violence started up," he said. "Our home is on the River Niger, between Goundam and Timbuktu. There were regular rocket attacks on the army, and nomads or their cattle were frequently hit." He eventually scraped up the means to return to Mbera where despite the tough life, there is "peace and freedom". "Our dream of course is to go back, but I know what it's like over there," said Khalifa's wife, Aichetou Walet Mohamed Ousmane, breastfeeding one of their four children. According to UN estimates, around 195,000 people have been displaced by the violence in northern Mali. Around 55,000 have fled to other parts of the country and 140,000 have gone to Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Niger. Mbera itself houses more than 51,000 people, more than two-thirds of whom are from Mali's Tuareg and Arab ethnic groups. The urge to go home is strong. Mali, Mauritania and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) launched a programme of voluntary repatriation in June last year. By the end of 2016, more than 1,500 had signed up, said the UNHCR's senior official in Mbera, Henri-Sylvain Yakara. One of those who made the return trip was Issa Ag Mohamedoun, who went back home with his family to Haribongo, southeast of Timbuktu. Now they are back in Mbera, where their fifth child was born two months ago. For nearly a year, they lived under the threat of armed groups and thieves. "Robbers tied me and took everything we had," he said. "A short time after that, I scraped together whatever we had and we headed back to Mbera." 'Not for $10 million' The early exodus from the camp has dried up, with only a few hundred leaving so far this year, and has been counterbalanced by a flood of arrivals. Since September 2016, a wave of displaced people has come in from Timbuktu, Goundam, Mopti and Nampala. The camp is struggling with a shrinking budget, which has prompted a reduction in food rations and "malnutrition problems for some children", Yakara said. But when it comes to deciding between a rumbling stomach or heart-wrenching terror, Mohamedoun said there was only outcome. "I wouldn't go back to Mali even if you gave me $10 million," he said. "Life is more important than that." ***prbxselfnetwork***

Using BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGY

Bluetooth technology allows users to exchange voice and data transmissions between 2 or more electronic devices, given that all the devices are within a short distance from one another. There are numerous ways to use Bluetooth technology, such as connecting a hands-free Bluetooth earpiece with your cell phone to make phone calls while you drive, pairing a Bluetooth printer with your computer to eliminate the presence of extra cords and cables in your office, and more. See Step 1 below to learn how to get the most out of your Bluetooth-capable devices. Part One of Two: Getting Started with Bluetooth 1 Learn what Bluetooth does. Bluetooth is a wireless connectivity tool that allows you to "pair" your devices so that they can interact with each other. For example, you can pair a headset with most smartphone, allowing you to talk without touching your phone. You can pair a gaming controller to a computer or console so you don't have to worry about the cord. You can send music to a Bluetooth-enabled speaker from your smartphone or laptop without having to connect them, or set up a home theater system without running speaker wire everywhere. Bluetooth has a maximum range of about 30 feet. Bluetooth transfer speeds top out at about 24 Mbps. 2 Check if your devices are Bluetooth-capable. Bluetooth has been around for a long time (about 20 years), and is the market leader in wireless connectivity. Chances are that your wireless device comes with Bluetooth support. The big exception to this is desktop computers. While nearly all laptops will have Bluetooth built-in, most desktops do not include it. You will need to purchase a Bluetooth dongle if you want to connect your desktop computer to Bluetooth devices. Many modern cars now have Bluetooth capabilities, allowing you to pair your phone while you are driving. Virtually every smartphone is able to pair with Bluetooth devices. Many newer printers are Bluetooth-capable, and can print wirelessly across the room. 3 Learn the capabilities of your Bluetooth devices. Every Bluetooth device has either single or multiple functionalities. For example, some cell phones may only allow you to use Bluetooth for making phone calls; whereas other cell phones may also allow you to transfer files to and from other cell phones. Every Bluetooth device has slightly different functionality. Review the manuals or consult with the manufacturers for your electronic devices to determine the ways in which you can use their Bluetooth technology. 4 Pair your Bluetooth devices. In order to use Bluetooth technology, you must connect your devices to one another wirelessly, also known as "pairing". The pairing process varies from device to device, but generally you will have one device that is "listening", and then the secondary device gets put into pairing mode. For example, if you are pairing a headset to a phone, your phone would be in "listen" mode, and the headset would be put into "pairing" mode. The phone would then "discover" the headset, and the connection would be established. Follow the instructions provided with your Bluetooth devices to complete the pairing process. In most cases, you will be required to perform a series of specific steps that will result in the pairing of your devices. When pairing devices, you typically will be asked for a PIN before the connection is made. If a PIN was never set, the default is usually 0000. Pairing typically only needs to be done once. AS long as Bluetooth is enabled on the devices, future connections will happen automatically. Part Two of Two: Using Bluetooth Technology 1 Transfer files between devices. Some Bluetooth devices will allow you to transfer files and documents from one device to another. For example, if your friend has a bunch of good pictures on their camera, you can pair it with your phone to quickly get copies of them.[1] Transfer files between cellphones, cameras and camcorders, computers, televisions, and more. 2 Use Bluetooth technology to talk on the phone. Bluetooth earpieces can be paired with some land-line telephones or cellphones so you can talk on the phone without having to hold its receiver. This is especially useful if you find yourself on the phone a lot for work and don't want to have to fish it out every time you get a call. 3 Tether your phone to your computer. Tethering your device allows you to share your phone's mobile network connection with your computer. This lets you browse the internet on your computer without having to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Not all services allow tethering, so check with your mobile carrier. Sometimes extra fees are required.[2] 4 Use Bluetooth to drive safer. Enable the Bluetooth technology built directly into your automobile or wear a Bluetooth earpiece when you drive so you can keep both hands placed on the steering wheel. In some regions, it is illegal to hold a cell phone in your hand and talk while you are driving. Bluetooth will allow you to talk on your phone while driving without breaking the law. Certain phones and car stereos will allow you to play music over the car stereo when connected to the phone via Bluetooth 5 Synchronize data between your Bluetooth devices. Some devices will allow you to synchronize data such as contact lists, emails, and calendar events between one another. This can be a great way to sync your phone contacts with your computer, or to transfer data to another phone. 6 Use Bluetooth equipment in your home office. Bluetooth devices can significantly decrease tangled cables, and allow you to work more freely. Bluetooth keyboards and mice allow you to type from anywhere without sacrificing accuracy. Bluetooth printers allow you to place the printer wherever you'd like without having to worry about stretching a cable from the printer to your computer. 7 Use Bluetooth devices to customize your home theater. Bluetooth speakers and remotes can make controlling and interacting with your media much easier. With a Bluetooth remote, you don't need to point it at the TV to use it. Bluetooth speakers allow you to set up a surround sound system without having to run speaker wires all over your living room. In order to set up a Bluetooth home theater system, you will need a Bluetooth-capable receiver. 8 Use Bluetooth to secure your house or car. Bluetooth technology is available in wireless entry systems that can unlock your home or car with the tap of a button on your smartphone. You'll never have to search for missing keys again! Check your local hardware store for Bluetooth-capable deadbolt systems, or contact your local car stereo store to ask about Bluetooth car lock mechanisms.[3] 9 Connect a PlayStation controller to your computer. If your computer is Bluetooth-capable, you can connect a PlayStation 3 or 4 controller to use a gamepad for your PC games. This is not supported by Sony, and requires the use of third-party software, but is relatively easy to set up. 10 Play multiplayer games. Bluetooth allows you to create a local network between two phones, which is a quick and easy way to set up a multiplayer gaming session. Although this only works if you're in the same room, it's much more reliable than trying to game over the internet. ***prbxselfnetwork***

Messi score twice as barcelona beat las palmas 3-0

Barcelona’s La Liga game against Las Palmas was played behind closed doors as a protest after their request for it to be postponed in light of Catalonia’s independence referendum was rejected. The Spanish government pledged to stop a poll declared illegal on a day of violent protests and unrest. Barca took the decision to play behind closed doors 25 minutes before kick-off, with thousands of fans outside. The league leaders cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory. Catalonia, a region of 7.5 million people in north-eastern Spain, has its own language and culture and Barcelona is its capital. It also has a high degree of autonomy, but is not recognised as a separate nation under the Spanish constitution.   ***prbxselfnetwork***

NetworkinG!!

Knowing how to network can help you get your foot in the door and land an interview, if not an actual job. This my write-up will give you some tips on how to network. 10 Second Summary 1. Work with your existing connection. Reconnect with old friends. 2. Have a pitch prepared, but don't be afraid to engage in small talk. 3. Ask for business cards and remember to follow up. 4. Find connections through online activities that interest you. 5. Branch out beyond the internet and join physical clubs. Part One of Three: Mastering the Basics 1 Start off networking with your existing connections. Getting in touch with old friends, distant relatives, and people you went to school with can be a good stepping stone because you're reaching out, but you're not approaching complete strangers.[1] Work on networking first on this group of people before moving on to people with whom you have a more tenuous connection. 2 Locate who you want to talk to. As a professional, or an aspiring professional, your time is important. Be discerning and selective — you owe it to yourself. Simply approach someone confidently, stick out your hand, and introduce yourself. It's not easy to do, but it's straightforward, and the more you do it, the easier it becomes. Be confident to inspire confidence in you. Many people who regularly schmooze aren't the most naturally confident people in the world. They've learned to project confidence. This projection soon becomes reality. The "fake it till you make it" strategy really does work. Some people call this the "hostess mentality."[2] You put others first and try to make them feel comfortable. This uncommon effort makes you feel powerful and, ultimately, puts you at ease. 3 Have your elevator pitch prepared. An elevator pitch is a personal blurb that sums up the "professional you" and can be delivered quickly — for example, in the time it would take two people to share an elevator ride. Not exactly a speech that you memorize, an elevator pitch is a couple of refrains that you remember that you can build around, given the situation. Here's an example: "I just graduated from XYZ University with a degree in marine biology. In school, I studied the interaction of tidal patterns on puffin populations. Currently, I'm leading a conservation effort designed to save the puffin population in Eastern Egg Rock, Maine." 4 Learn the art of the chit-chat, or small talk. Having a great conversation often starts with a little bit of back-and-forth. It's an opportunity for you to get a feel for the other person, and for them to get a feel for you. Some people describe it this way: Conversation is a ladder, and small talk is the first rung that you step on.[3] Don't worry if it feels unnatural at first. Smile, remember to be confident in your abilities, and listen intently. Look for an anchor.[4] This is something that you have in common with the other person. Perhaps it's a school, or a mutual friend, or a shared experience, like a love of sky-diving. You probably need to ask questions in order to find one, but once you have one, you're golden. Reveal something about yourself related to the anchor. Asking questions is great, particularly if you're searching for an answer, but a conversation is a two-way street, and you gotta give a little in order to get something back. Encourage the other person to continue sharing. Once a few pleasantries are exchanged, keep asking questions about the anchor or share different experiences you've had about the anchor. 5 But don't be afraid to go deeper. If your conversation stays on the bottom half of the ladder, you risk not distinguishing yourself from the dozens of other people that the person you're networking with meets over the course of the event or the year. In order to distinguish yourself from others, you'll want to dive deeper after the superficial chitchat and say something that really causes your contact to pause and think about you. One prominent blogger recommends that you look for a passion or a problem.[5] Obviously, finding a passion is probably a little safer territory for you to talk about, but don't be afraid to empathize with your contact if they talk about a problem they might be having in work or outside of it. 6 Set yourself apart by thinking before you speak. In normal conversation, it's common to build up a flow of conversation and to fear the dreaded awkward pause. But when you're worried about constantly keeping up the flow of conversation, you often forget about listening to what the other person has to say and formulating an intelligent response. Don't be afraid to take a second or two to pause and think about what you're going to say before you say it. This one or two seconds feels a lot longer to you than it does to your conversator-in-crime. If something intelligent comes out of your mouth afterwards, that investment was worth it. Journalist Shane Snow describes the respect he has for a friend who thinks before he speaks: "Whereas most of us (and powerful people especially) feel pressure to have instant answers to everything (job interviews and media training teaches us to do this), causing us to blubber and ramble and shoot from the hip, Fred takes his time. When you ask him a question, he pauses. Sometimes for a long time. Sometimes the silence makes you uncomfortable. He thinks carefully. And then he responds with triple the insight you expect."[6] 7 Approach the networking experience from the perspective of "How can I help this person?" Some people think of networking as a selfish act, because some treat the process as a means to an end instead of an end in itself. While some certainly treat networking that way, it's a less sophisticated way to think about networking. Instead, try approaching a networking situation being willing to help someone else out first. If you genuinely try to help others out, they'll want to do the same for you. Then, the motivation for mutual assistance will come from a genuinely good place. 8 Find out who knows whom. When you're talking to people, find out what they do for a living and for fun, as well as what their spouse or significant other, nearby family members, and close friends do for work and recreation, too. It may be helpful to make note of this in your address book so you don't lose track of who does what. Pretend that you've meet Mary at a book club meeting and you find out that her cousin is an expert windsurfer. A few months later, your niece reveals to you that one of her life's goals is to go windsurfing. Find Mary, call her up, and ask her if her cousin is available to give your niece a private lesson as a birthday gift. Mary says "Sure!" and convinces her cousin to give you a discount. Your niece is thrilled. A month later, your car breaks down, and you remember that your niece's boyfriend is an aspiring auto mechanic... Find the extroverts. As you continue to network, you'll find that some people are much better at it than you are — they already know everyone! You'll stand to benefit from getting to know such people first because they can introduce you to others who share your interests or goals. In other words, if you're an introvert, find an extrovert who can "set you up". 9 If all goes well, ask for their business card and assure them you'd like to continue the conversation. Once you've had a pleasant chat, exchanged viewpoints, or commiserated over a horrible boss, don't be afraid to say that you've enjoyed the conversation. Offer something like: "I'm glad we talked. You seem like a very knowledgeable and respected person. How about we continue the conversation soon?" 10 Follow up. Don't get someone's business card or e-mail address and forget about it. Find a way to stay in touch. Maintain your network. Because your network is like a tree: without nourishment, it will die. Be sure to give it the attention it needs to stay alive. Whenever you find an article that might be of interest to them, for instance, send it on their way. If you hear about a negative event (a tornado, a riot, an electrical blackout) that happened in their vicinity, call them and make sure they're fine. Keep track of everyone's birthday and mark them on a calendar; be sure to send birthday cards to everyone you know, along with a nice note to let them know you haven't forgotten about them, and that you don't want them to forget about you. Part Two of Three: Using the Internet to Network 1 Pursue online interests and activities that mean a lot to you. Who says that you can't network while playing chess against a worthy opponent in Russia? Or network while on your favorite medical community researching your husband's autoimmune disorder? The internet has networking with groups of like-minded people a whole lot easier. Check forums, listings, classifieds, and internet mailing lists (known as "listservs") for local events or meetings that are likely to attract people with similar interests or passions. 2 Research people you admire or those who hold interesting positions. The internet has also made researching prominent (or not-so-prominent) people a lot easier than it used to used. Now, you can gather information about people with a simple Google search, or you can connect with them on one of the many social networks that people spend increasing time on. Research these people for two reasons: It helps to be knowledgeable about different career arcs and career opportunities. Researching other peoples' careers teaches you that there are an almost infinite numbers of ways that you can get into advertising, for example, or become a merchant. You're familiarizing yourself with their personal history. This information will come in handy when you reach out to them; it shows you've done your homework. 3 Ask several people for an informational interview. An informational interview is an informal meeting you have with another professional in which you ask them questions about their careers and pick their brains. An informational interview can be coffee after work or a Skype interview in the middle of the workday. Whatever it ends up being, it's usually short — 30 minutes or less — and you should offer to pick up the bill if you grabbed coffee or lunch. Informational interviews are a great way to both learn about the other person and develop your critical questioning and listening skills. You never know; you might impress the person so much during the informational interview that they decide to offer you a job if they have the authority. Some feel it's a lot less of a crapshoot than playing the resume game. When you're done with your informational interview, express your gratitude and ask your contact for three other people who you might talk to as part of your continuing outreach. Reach out to those people and refer back to the original contact if needed. 4 Tap your network periodically. The next time you need something (a job, a date, a hiking partner) cast a wide net and see what happens. Make a few phone calls or send out an e-mail describing your situation in a friendly tone: "Hey, I'm in a bit of a pinch. I have these concert tickets for Saturday and I haven't been able to find someone to go with me. Since this is a band I love, I'd like to go with someone I know I'll have fun with. Do you know of anyone who might enjoy it with me?" Don't ever apologize when asking for a favor or help. It can signal a lack of confidence and professionalism.[7] There's nothing to be sorry about--you're just seeing if anyone happens to be in a position to help you; you're not making demands, or forcing people to do anything that they don't want to do. 5 Never keep your networking efforts isolated to the internet. You can establish great connections online, but the most successful networkers are those who take those online connections and translate them into intimate face-to-face relationships. Going out for lunch, coffee, or drinks is a great way to begin to establish a face-to-face relationship with people. Remember that you can also invite people to do things related to your interests. If you met someone at a caving club, why don't you ask them to check out a new cave with you? The objective here is to establish a connection beyond your initial online meeting. Preferably, this should be one-on-one. Part Three of Three: Exploring Why We Network 1 Break your stereotypes about networking. If you're reading this article, you're probably familiar with the benefits of networking. But perhaps you've avoided networking, for whatever reason (there are a number of them!), preferring the easy way out. Let go of that! Stop trying to justify your fears. Instead, try to believe in yourself and realize that we, in fact, network for some very good reasons. 2 Reconsider the idea that networking is insincere, pretentious, or even manipulative. Sometimes, you're right. Networking can be a superficial way of leveraging a connection in a self-serving and thoughtless way. But there are also people who want to build genuine, mutually-beneficial relationships. There are people who are willing to do awe-inspiring things for the simple pleasure of helping someone else out. There are people who enjoy the sense of community that networking brings and who like the idea of empowering each other whenever possible. When you're networking, you're going to have to sift through the people you don't want to know to get to the people you do want to know. That's just an essential part of networking, but the good news is that with practice, you'll get better at spotting the people worth knowing. 3 Reconsider that you're too shy or self-conscious to network. Networking does require a degree of boldness. Yet with the advent of social networking sites, you can get to find others with similar interests and goals without being in a room full of people. People who are shy and self-conscious tend to be a lot more open and talkative when they're doing or talking about something they're deeply interested in. If you find people who are just as obsessed with birding, origami, or manga as you are, then you'll have a much easier time establishing connections. 4 Reconsider the myth that networking takes too much time and effort. Unless you're an extroverted person who thoroughly enjoys schmoozing, networking can be exhausting. Why bother, right? Yes, networking takes time and effort, but the time and effort you save by networking can also be tremendous. Imagine how much time and frustration you would save if anything you wanted or needed was just one or two phone calls away. Ultimately, a network is an investment, with benefits that outweigh the costs.[8] You just need to stick with it and watch it grow. 5 Continue networking in order to push yourself. You want to grow as an individual, both personally and professionally. Networking helps you hone essential interpersonal skills that are huge assets in today's world. It helps keep you on your toes, teaches you to listen, and inspires a humility born of a desire to help others. If you do networking for nothing else, do it for personal growth. Networking can help you become the best version of yourself. Tips It always helps to look approachable and be charming. Over time, it will get easier for you to start a conversation with a stranger. Start small. Don't sign up for 12 meetings in one month. A sustained effort over the long run is better than making a one-time big effort and then burning out. Remember that networking requires maintenance, so don't bite off more than you can chew. You can make great contacts with politicians and their aides by volunteering in an election or being involved with their party outside of election time. Use every Internet tool at your disposal to build your social network in real life. Instant messaging applications, for instance, are sometimes better than phone calls. Internet is very useful to meet and keep contact with a very large amount of people worldwide. Can't find a local club or group that's related to your interests or career? Start one! Warnings Watch out for parasites - people who'll pump you for favors and never try to help you in return. When you find one attached to you (and if you're generous, you will) turn them down as politely as you can: "No, I'm sorry, I can't do that tomorrow. I've got plans." If they try to make you feel guilty, feign an excuse to get out of the conversation and make yourself scarce to them. Don't lose your temper or act cold because that'll give them something negative to say about you when they're talking to others, like "Oh, yes I know James, he once called me a leech..." - don't let this happen to you. ***prbxselfnetwork***

From grass to grace (a touching story)

A Unilorin Accounting department graduate and Ex- president, with the name Amodu Saheed Adebayo shared with us his touching story on facebook, after verifying his graduation status on 29th of Sept 2017. Read Touching story below:- Life is like a swinging pendulum, it swings to wherever it wants.’ The gods of the land, must have conspired against my success. They must have been rebelling against my success for so long. Why has destiny screwed me out of favour, even when they come? These were exactly my lines of thoughts, when I saw my name considered for a provisional admission. After three attempts of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board Examimation. But, the finance to kiss the awaited door of the university seems to be a huge punch, like that of Mayweather, on me. Just some months at the place of my I.T placement(GTBank), and now, welcomed with a congratulatory text of admission from the better by far University (University of Ilorin). It was an ethical dilemma. I was left with two right answers but still stuck. Situation presented me with the option to continue to work with an ordinary diploma certificate or opt out to go to the university, I had longed dream of. Just like the four lepers who were left with the options of entry the Aramean camp in search of greener pasture, but would have to face death! or they remain in their country and die of hunger! I asked myself many unanswered questions. The words of those leper played my thoughts, ‘why sit we here till we die!’ I asked myself too, why sit I here, till I fade. Success smiled at me, for the first time after many attempts to pursue a university degree. but, failure seems to be around the corner to make jest of me. Leaving the job a stipend is sure of, for school where there is no finance for, is like telling a blind man to compete with Usain Bolt. I cried, but my tears would not appease the gods of fortune, to send me helpers. I really desired the university wall, just like I desire to work in the banking hall. I cried, sometimes I regretted coming to this world, I blamed my parents for bringing me to this world, to suffer for things that should naturally be my entitlement. Just as I was sank in the deep thought of what to do, that clammy morning, I was greeted with another congratulatory, news to start work with one of the big guns bank, Skye bank on the Island. God! I shouted. another ethical dilemma. ‘I want to go to school.’ I was left with many right answers, but with only one answer to be given. I resolute, to resign and go to school, it would be a dilemma, because the finance isn’t available. If I settle for the employement, there will the money to cater for myself and my aging parents and siblings, but there will be limitation to how far, I go in the value-market. ‘Oh, Allah help me.’ Was the only word I could reiterate. Finally, I left work for school. Oh, God! I used to think life was a bed rose, until I left my job, to know that responsibility, isn’t a child’s play. The stipend from my job was sufficient to foot my opening school bills. The problem was now, continuing and surviving. I knew, no one would help me, if I didn’t help myself. I had to look for something to parlay and see myself live fine in school. A friend told me to start with a bet, he gave me the assurance that I would see the double amount of my money, if I could predict correctly weekend football matches. I went home jubilating, thinking of how to start the weekend with my new remedy to hardship, bet. I parrot back the information, when my nursery school yoruba rhymes, sip into my ears ‘Ohun tí abá sisé fún ní pé lówó eni’ otherwise; only things we worked/laboured for last longer.’ The rhymes, couldn’t be wrong. It was a synopsis of my mother’s philosophy of life, ‘Isé ni ògùn ìsé’ otherwise, ‘work is the antidote to poverty.’ Stealing was the only option I wouldn’t have considered. It was a sunny afternoon, that day on campus, the golden petals of the sun shone directly to my eye balls, I used my right hand to shade my eyes to see further. It was a gentle pat on my back, it was Àdió, my secondary school mate. I was shocked, because it was rumored that he was reprimanded for stealing; no one would have argue against that, because of his character then(while, we were in secondary school). We hugged each as I stole gaze at him. ‘I am a 400level student of History and International studies.’ He said, in a tone buried in pride. I marvelled at his achievement, because then, I never thought a pap will ever sally from his black pot. I told him I am just a new student in the school, but I was quick to tell him my challenges, because he was looking kempt and it was obvious he was heading for a delivery. He asked me, to meet him in his house, which he described. We departed with a firm handshake, with our eyes peering into each others. My mind told me, he remembered how his secondary school ‘crush’ left him for me(who knows) The midday alarm met me in his room and parlour self-contained. His room was tastefully decorated. A resemblance of the eye-catchy room arrangement in hollywood. He welcomed me, with a warm hug, with the scent of his perfume naturalising the odour from my armpit. I didn’t mind sitting on the floor as I narrate how I desperately need a means of survival, in school. He beamed, and asked me to sit on the sofa. He promised to introduce me to his friend, who was into catering services. I met him, and that was how I started moving from one junket to another every weekend, as a service boy. I travelled as far as kogi, Ekiti, Sokoto, with the catering services establishment. I parlayed the little I get to meet my end means. On week days, I will go in search of construction site, and work as a laborer. At the end of the labour, I get paid but my body aches. Balancing school with work was a hell of work to do. At a point, I considered quitting schooling because I was under a pressure, I thought it was too tough for me to handle. My father’s word occurred to me ‘you don’t relent if you’re not sure of the prize yet.’ I persist. It was not a rosy journey, but determination stirred me. Even when it was time to run for a political post, I did. Though, I looked down on myself but people around me, that was aware of the potentate in me, encouraged me. I emerged as the president of my department. Double work!. I no longer think for myself, I think for also, hundreds of heads. Still with my labourer’s job and the catering service job, I was able to see myself through, not relegating the impact of my friends, who we coached children together during holidays, around Surulere axis(Lawanson), Lagos. When I remember the story of my life, which words can’t capture, I cry. But, today 30th, Sept, 2017. I am a graduate with a grade that every students will love to have. Who says a dream is too hard to achieve, when determination is there? Never give up on your dreams, your life is an epistle others are waiting for to read and write theirs too, when you remember this you won’t give up. I am a success! ***prbxselfnetwork***

How to connect two computers

For the family or small business, having your computers connected can be a great way to share data, resources, and more. This article will show you how to connect two computers using various operating systems. Note: these instructions create a private network of only two devices. For an expanded understanding of the private network concept, visit How to Set up a Private Network after reading this article. Method One of Five: Ethernet 1 Plug in an ethernet cable. To connect two computers that don't have access to a shared network, you can use an Ethernet cable to make a direct connection between the two computer's Ethernet ports. Some computers require a special cable called "crossover cable." This is a specialized cable that is wired in reverse. Ethernet ports have both inputs and outputs, and the crossover cable is switched so that the output from one computer connects to the input of the other. Many current computers do not need a crossover cable: they use Auto-Medium Dependent Interface Crossover (Auto-MDIX), and will automatically configure the Ethernet port. Most Macintosh computers built recently do not need a crossover cable. If you're not sure, check your documentation to see what your system needs. If that's not available, just use a crossover cable: an auto-sensing Ethernet port will work with a crossover cable just as well as with a standard cable. A crossover cable is also known as twisted pair ethernet cable. Method Two of Five: Windows Vista, 7, or 8 1 Connect the two computers using a crossover cable. At least one of the computers being connected should be using Windows Vista, 7, or 8. 2 Open the Network and Sharing Center. If you're connecting a Windows 7 and Windows Vista computer together, use Windows 7 to perform these tasks. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type "network," and then click on Network and Sharing Center. 3 Select your network. In the network map, shown at the top of the Network and Sharing Center, double click on the Unidentified network icon. If you have more than a single network, the icon will be named Multiple networks. 4 Enable network discovery. If network discovery and file sharing are turned off, in Network, click the info bar containing this message: Network discovery and file sharing are turned off. Network computers and devices are not visible. Click to change..., and then click Turn on network discovery and file sharing. If you're asked for an admin password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation, as required. Note: if one of the computers is running Windows XP, it may take a while for it to appear in the Network window. You may need to configure the XP computer as described below. Method Three of Five: Windows XP 1 Open the Control Panel. From the Start menu, select Control Panel or Settings, and then Control Panel. 2 Double-click System, and then select the Computer Name tab. Enter the name of each computer and the name of the workgroup The name of each computer should be unique, but the workgroup name must be identical for both. 3 Set up the network connection. From the Control Panel, double-click Network Connections, and then connect the computer using the crossover cable. If either machine's status is shown as "Disconnected", the cable is either not firmly seated or bad. 4 Enable file sharing. Right-click the icon for the network connection, and then select Properties. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Windows Firewall Settings. In the Windows Firewall Settings window, click the Exceptions tab, and make sure that Printer and File Sharing is selected. It may take some time for the computer to obtain IP addresses and appear in the Network Connections window. Note: if you're connecting two Windows XP computers, you'll need to do the above steps for both computers. Method Four of Five: Macintosh OS X 1 Hook them up. Connect an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet computer on one port to the Ethernet computer on the other. If you don't have an Ethernet port, you can also use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter. 2 Set network preferences. On each computer, in the Network preferences panel, select Show Network Port Configurations and make sure Built-in Ethernet is checked. If Ethernet is active, it will be shown in the Network Status pane of the Network System Preferences panel. 3 Enable Sharing. Open the Sharing preferences panel on one of the machines, and activate Personal File Sharing. Make note of the computer address, shown here as "afp://192.168.0.2" (afp stands for Apple File Protocol). 4 Set up the second computer. Using a Finder window in OS X 10.3 or later, click the Network icon in the side bar. When all have loaded, look for the name of the first computer you set up, and click on it. You may be asked for your password. Another dialog will appear with all the available volumes. Select one or all of them, and their icons will appear in your sidebar as partitions. Method Five of Five: Using a Macintosh Computer as a Server 1 Share computers as servers. The advantage to this is that the drive icons of the other computer will show up on the Desktop as volumes. 2 Select "Connect to Server" from the Go menu. A dialog will appear with a list of favorite servers. If your target machine's IP address does not appear in the list, click Browse or type the IP address of the target machine into the Server Address field. 3 Click Connect. A password dialog will appear. Enter that information as required. A dialog will appear, showing the volume selections on the target Mac. Once the icons appear on your Desktop, treat them as you would any other drive. ***prbxselfnetwork***

Learning how to create a succesful networking event

It’s true – we tend to buy from people we like and trust, which is one of the reasons successful networking is so important to growing your customer base. Steps 1 Have a Clear Purpose. Know the purpose of your networking event, and think of it from the angle of everyone involved. For example, if the purpose is for everyone to get more leads or referrals, then consider the best approach to take so that everyone gets what they need. 2 Set the Scope. By scope, we mean size and industry. How many people will you include in the event? Are you looking to create more of a sit-down environment where people would take turns going around the circle, explaining what they do and what kind of new clients they are in the market for? Or do you envision a large group gathering, with freestyle networking and a massive exchange of business cards. Perhaps a speed networking event is more your style. Are you considering regular monthly gatherings, or just a one-off event? Any of these types of networking events can be highly successful, but when you’ve set the scope, it will help you plan the details accordingly. 3 Save the Date. If you’re planning a mid-size to large event, you’ll want to give folks a heads-up so they can save the date on their calendar. 4 Secure a Location. Now that you’ve decided on the purpose, style and scope of your event, the next step is to book a venue, and you’ll want to do this as early as possible. 5 Spread the Word. It may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people start planning an event with the best of intentions, but then it turns out to be a “secret meeting.” In other words, nobody knew about the meeting except for you and a couple of close contacts. 6 Plan Refreshments Thoughtfully. Remember, this is a networking event, not an entertaining event. People are here to meet and greet and find new business contacts, not to pig out. Keep the refreshments light and easy to eat (a good rule of thumb is: nothing that requires a fork or sticks in your teeth). 7 Prepare the Participants. It’s a good idea to let your attendees know what to expect. For example, if you’re planning a small event in someone’s home, you might let the participants know how many people are coming, so they can plan to bring enough business cards plus any flyers, brochures, samples, etc. that they would like to share. 8 Set the Agenda. Here is one possibility: 7:00-7:15pm Meet and greet, 7:15-7:20pm Welcome and introduction, 7:20-8:30pm Each participant gets the floor for 5-7 minutes, round robin style 8:30-9:00pm Freestyle networking. 9 Facilitate Mingling. The key to any successful event is mingling throughout the group. Whenever you bring together a group of people, there will nearly always be those who mingle easily, working their way through the room and making connections and building rapport, while others are feeling a bit nervous or insecure in a room where they don’t know anyone. 10 Promote Yourself. Don’t fall into the trap that so many event coordinators find themselves in – just because you’ve coordinated the event, it doesn’t mean you should avoid promoting yourself. 11 Use a Takeaway. “Out of sight, out of mind” is just human nature, so it’s important to have some kind of takeaway for your participants, otherwise all the time and hard work you’ve put into the event may be for nothing. 12 Get Feedback. You may think your event was a raving success, but perception is everything, so it’s a good idea to get some feedback from other participants as well. 13 Follow Up. Follow up with any leads or connections you made, and encourage your fellow participants to do the same. There is a saying, “the fortune is in the followup.” Call your leads and tell them you enjoyed meeting them. Find ways you can help each other’s business. Send referrals and ask for referrals. Be specific about what you need. ***prbxselfnetwork***

Unlocking your nokia lumia 920

Lumia 920 is one of the popular smartphones Nokia developed to run on Windows 8. Nokia Lumia 920 features a large 4.5-inch screen with an impressively vivid display, and runs on LTE or 4G mobile networks. If you purchased your brightly colored Lumia 920 from a specific mobile carrier through a plan or a contract, you may need to unlock it first before you can use it with other 4G LTE mobile networks in your area. If you don’t know how, just proceed to step 1. Steps 1 Get your phone’s IMEI code. The first step to unlocking your Nokia Lumia 920 is to get its International Mobile Equipment Identity code, a unique numerical combination assigned to every mobile device. IMEI codes are commonly found on the phone’s battery. Alternatively, using your Lumia’s on-screen keypad, type in *#06#, and the IMEI code will be instantly displayed on the screen. 2 Get your phone’s unlock code. Unlock codes lift any digital restriction set by the mobile service carrier from which you got your phone. There are two ways to get your unlock code: Through your mobile service carrier’s Customer Support. Call in and ask for the unlock code. Some carriers, like AT&T, are quite lenient when it comes to unlocking phones bound by contract. Be ready with your phone’s IMEI code and account details. Below are carrier customer support lines you can call if you’re in the United States: AT&T: (800) 331-0500 Verizon: (800) 922-0204 or dial *611 from your Verizon phone Sprint: (844) 665-6327 or dial *2 from your Sprint phone Through websites that offer unlocking services. Simply provide your phone’s mobile network carrier, your phone’s IMEI code, and your e-mail address. After submitting a request, the unlock code will be e-mailed to you after a couple of days or so. 3 Turn off your phone and insert another carrier’s SIM card. After shutting down your phone by pressing on the Power button, push open the SIM card cover at the top-left corner of the phone to reveal the SIM card slot. Insert the micro SIM card from another carrier (can be foreign or local), and switch on your phone again. You will then see a message on the screen requiring you to enter a PIN. 4 Type in the 20-digit unlock code you have. Use the on-screen keypad to type it in, and press the “OK” button to enter it. Once the unlock code has been accepted, a confirmation message will appear on your screen. Your Nokia Lumia 920 should now be unlocked and ready for use with other network carriers. ***prbxselfnetwork***..

Unlocking your nokia

When you purchase a new phone, the company that you bought it from typically "locked" it so that you can only use it on their network. This can be an issue when traveling abroad and trying to avoid expensive roaming fees. Depending on your specific Nokia model, unlocking your device can usually be completed in just a few steps. Method One of Two: Unlocking With an Unlock Code 1 Contact your service provider. Usually, if you've been a customer of theirs for some time, they will provide you with an unlock code for free. This is, by far, the best way to get your phone unlocked. After you connect with your provider follow what they say to unlock. 2 Turn on your phone with no SIM card inside. To determine how to remove the SIM card of your particular model, reference your user manual. Enter your PIN number if you are prompted. For newer models, simply insert a new SIM card and enter your unlock code. You can find this by using easily downloaded software. If you have unlocked your device correctly, you will see "SIM restriction off" on your screen. If you are using an older model, proceed to the next step. 3 Key in the following code: # PW + unlock code + 7#. Enter the P by tapping the * three times. Enter the W by tapping the * four times. Enter the + by tapping the * twice. If that code doesn't work, try replacing the "7" in the code with a "1."[1] 4 Unlock your Nokia device. If you have unlocked your phone correctly, then "SIM restriction off" will appear on your screen.[2] Method Two of Two: Unlocking With Software 1 Download software to generate the unlocking code. If you cannot get your unlock code from your service provider, software is available on online for free. UnlockMe and Nokia Unlock Calculator are recommended options. 2 Enter your information on their website. If you choose Nokia Unlock Calculator, simply input your information and then select "Get Unlock Code" at the bottom of the page. Once you have retrieved your personal unlock code, you can go on to unlock your device. 3 Insert a new SIM card in your phone. Once you have done so, key in your unique unlock code and then select "OK." If you have unlocked your phone correctly, then "SIM restriction off" will appear on your screen.***prbxselfnetwork***

What is CPA marketing all about??

What is CPA? CPA stands for “Cost Per Action” CPA is one of the popular ways of making money on the internet. CPA marketing is very simple: you get paid when someone clicks on your affiliate link and completes an action. That action could be: Providing an email address Signing up for a free trial of a product Downloading a mobile app Requesting a quote CPA is easier because you’ll earn money even if a product is not sold. Unlike affiliate marketing where somebody must purchase a product for you to receive commissions. CPA model works on lead generation. Many big companies are willing to pay big commissions for generating targeted leads.  Your job is to just get them a lead, they will do rest of the work for generating a sale from those leads. Suitable For - 1. People who love to talk, write, explain and have the ability to persuade. 2. Best for people who already own a blog or website with some daily traffic. Skills Required -  1. Ability to promote CPA affiliate links using social media, videos, forum marketing, paid ads, etc. 2. Ability to persuade and convince people through right argument and explanation. Time Required For Starting CPA Marketing - To start CPA marketing and earn commissions you need find an offer to promote, then get accepted by a CPA network. You can find an offer almost instantly but getting accepted into a CPA network might take a week. But, once accepted you can instantly start promoting an offer of your wish. Tips - 1. Find different offers - Your first step here will be to find different CPA offers available in the market. And the best way to dig them out is to visit oDigger.com and OfferVault.com. Both these sites work as search engines for finding CPA offers. They aggregate offers from all the reputed CPA networks available worldwide. 2. Select your perfect offer - If you already own a blog in any particular niche then select an offer related to that niche. Make sure it is relevant to your blog and audience. For e.g. If your blog talks about android app gaming, then a CPA offer which pays you when somebody installs an android game app would be perfect for you. 3. Getting accepted - Believe or not but getting accepted into CPA networks has become a huge stumbling block for most of the marketers. Most of the CPA networks nowadays implement tough scrutiny to ensure that only high quality and legitimate marketers get access to their offers. This is to prevent any fraud or any illegitimate activity. Following are few tips which will help you to get in: Be honest - CPA networks filter out scammers and not the legitimate people. So make sure the information you provide is real and isn’t shady. Don’t try to trick them. Know you offer - If you already know what offer you want to promote then it’s a great plus point. You’ll be asked about it when you’ll fill the application. This shows that you are one with a plan. Know your traffic sources - While filling your application you’ll be asked about your traffic sources. So you must know how people are going to reach your offer. Are you going to promote it through email marketing, mobile ads, writing an article on blog or anything else, you must clearly mention about it. 4.  Optimize your blog - Once you’ve joined a network and selected your CPA offer, it’s the time to promote it on your blog. The best way to do this to integrate your affiliate links in the blog’s content.  This is so far the best way to get higher click thru rates. Another way is you can place banners either on in the header or sidebar section.  Always do some experiments and try to optimize your link placement to maximize your click thru rates, but while doing so ensure that you are damaging your blog’s user experience. How To Monetize -  Commissions for CPA offers usually range from $0.10 to $10 per action. In some niches such as Insurance, Attorney, Antivirus Software it can go upto $50 per action.  Imagine if you could get 10 people to download a trial version of an antivirus software which pays you $50 per install, you’ll earn $500 without even selling anything. The commission's offered are decided based on the factors such as niche, back end product cost, product demand and supply, targeted country and so on. In order to earn maximum commissions, it is best that you choose offers which are relevant to your audience and pay higher commissions..  ***prbxselfnetwork***

Unhealthy phone charging..

I cannot begin to overemphasize the importance of charging our devices, especially our smartphones - you can relate to that. Charging is fast becoming a way of life for most people, isn't it so? My focus on this post is on smartphone charging. We even go as much as charging them overnight, but is it a healthy habit at that? Leaving your smartphone plugged-in overnight while you sleep doesn't do good to it at all. Right from the first charge after purchase the battery starts to depreciate, but even at that, not so terribly as when its ideally charged. Leaving your smartphone charged up to 100% isn't beneficial - I've done my study. Stop your charging a little above 90% or a little below 90%. Another thing, when it goes below 20% it reads red, and that's a sign of imminent depreciation. Charging at 40% is better. Worse case scenario is allowing it go battery empty. This has a negative effect on the life span of the battery. With mobile technology seeing so much development and smartphones coming out more frequently with non-removeable batteries, it makes more sense to maintain a healthy battery life if you desire to use the device for a couple of years. And here comes a typical question when you want to trade-in a smartphone: how good is its battery life? ***prbxselfnetwork***

D'banj reacts to eidris abdulkareem's "outbursts"

D’banj “Kokomaster” has refused to throw tantrums at Eedris Abdulkareem, who has tongue-lashed him in a recent video – calling him stupid for leaving Don Jazzy. Eedris said, “I love him, I love him, you know why I love him, he has a drive. The biggest mistake someone like D’banj made was to leave Don Jazzy, D’banj nor get talent oo, na razzmasta he get, if you go America, them go tell you wetin razzmasta mean. But Don jazzy has the technical back up to make D’banj sound good, I love him for that.” D’banj, in response, said Eedris insulted people who are young enough to be his children. Key excerpts: “…I have seen different videos of him talking about different artistes that are young enough to be his kids. I would have thought that if he was such a role model, there were better ways he could pass his message across but I have nothing against him. I have nothing more to say about him. I feel people just have different ways of expressing themselves.” He also used the opportunity to talk about his son and what being a father means to him. “Being a father is very humbling. I have always acted as a father to a lot of young artistes from the days of MoHits but now, I have a child of my own. When he was born, I was in the hospital and as I held his hands, it made me realise that to whom much is given, much is expected. This is someone’s life that I am responsible for. It is not just about fatherhood but now I have a family. Before I became a family man, I took decisions without looking back,” he said. ***prbxselfnetwork***
